    location of KDE version number

How, or where, do I find out which version of KDE is on my computer?
The Kinfo center does not list it.
    Thanks

Lots of ways. In any KDE program click on "Help" then "About KDE".

Or go to System Settings-->Desktop-->Splash Screen. The version is displayed in the right-hand window.

The splash screen is less reliable as it can be changed, and the default KDE splash screen only says "KDE 3.5", not taking into account the minor number (3.5.x).

There are two (ok three) ways to get the KDE version:

        1. What Detonate said: In any KDE program, Help menu -> About KDE.

        2. In the command line:
        Code:
        kde-config --version
        3. In KControl's "front" page, but you have to launch KControl by pressing Alt+F2 and typing "kcontrol".
