For quite a while (several months), the graphics on my Edgy Eft box (Dell 2350 Dimension) have been flickering. Areas of the screen will "stutter" to the left or right by about 1 - 5 pixels, with this cascading up or down the screen (Dell 19" LCD.). This effect began around the time I switched from Dapper to Edgy. On the other hand, there are times, few and far between, when the screen is perfectly stable and the display is as solid as from my Windows Box, which is always stable. (KVM switch between boxes.)
If I assume first that the hardware is okay, then something is wrong with the X code. If X is okay, then I need to buy a new PCI video card.
Does anyone have any ideas on the situation I've described? Should I bite the bullet and buy a new card?
