    cannot read cd

When i put a cd in a window pops up headed
    K3b data project. KDE daemon
"a new medium has been detected
what do yo want to do
Then there is a large red x and "do nothing"

The same window pops up regardless of whether I put the cd in the burner or the dvd reader

The K3b works fine as a recording unit. I have just viewed the data cd that I recorded in an XP computer.
Have I somehow left a program running?
    thanks
    (using kubuntu 6.06)

    Re: cannot read cd

you should be able to browse to your cd drive in k3b and access it that way I do it. On the left in k3b you should see a small window and you see your drive there at the top click on it and you should see you contents of your disk. hope this helps

      Re: cannot read cd

      Thanks dave
      That works
      but
i cannot get the cd to eject. Right clicking just says "cannot umount. device busy"(so I reboot)
Although going to K3B allows me to view the cd I did not have to do this in the past so I must have screwed up some files!!
      Any ideas?
(btw. using "umount" in a terminal also comes up with "busy")
