using Kubuntu as a dumb terminal emulator?

not sure if this is the right section to ask.
We have a serial network right now and are running Win PCs with software to emulate a dumb terminal which connects through the serial port.
is there such a piece of software for Kubuntu?
preferably one with a GUI, I'm not one for the command line in *nix
We are currently using Alphacom on the wintel boxes

Minicom perhaps. Get it from your package manager.
