Weird screensaver problem

I'm currently running Dapper with KDE 3.5.2. My screensaver will not start unless I set the priority to "medium." No problem, except if I have to restart KDE for any reason, the priority automatically resets to "low." There must be some configuration file that I can edit, but I have no idea where to look.

Not sure about that one, but maybe tinkering with the nice value set in ~/.xscreensaver would help you on (?).
