    firefox

    Hello,

i am a new user of kubuntu. i try to install firefox but it doesn't work.
if i click on the file mozilla-installer-bin from the downloaded archive, nothing happens.
if i try to launch if from the shell, it says that there is a problem with a library.
if i try to install it with Adept manager (packages mangager), i see that it downloads and installs some things but at the end, nothing has really changed...

    any solution please?
    thanks for your precious help

    Hi,

If you installed it by adept, you should find it in your menu under Internet submenu

      Re: 64 bit Anthlon-kubuntu 6 06 1 cant install firefox

      Hi,
I have a 64 bit AMD anthilon and am running KUBUNTU 6.06.1
I tried everything to install firefox, using both firefox and mozilla. I tried to install using adept, and it looks like it goes in, but then it says at the end: "no packages installed."
I tried the konsole, and tried draging the Ffirefox icon to it, and then entering install, but I am new to Kubuntu and may not have did it right. I looked for the program after trying and it is not to be found. I also had trouble trying to install a flash player, but that may correct if I can install firefox. ANy suggestions?

        Re: firefox

Really strange behaviour, I have a 64 bits version and it's working well and firefox installs. Can you give the exact output of the following command in a konsole ?
        Code:
        sudo apt-get install firefox

And what to do if firefox appears in dark (disable) in Adept?
