Kubuntu 6.06
For the last several weeeks, Adept hangs for a long time with the message "waiting for headers (99%)". Eventually it proceeds, but I'm wondering why it hangs for so long; it did not do that earlier. A similar problem is found at this forum HERE, but the solution there doesn't seem to apply as all my repositories are US or were installed direct by EasyUbuntu, and worked earlier without the delay. I haven't made any changes recently except to remove the Ichthux repositories which showed errors frequently. Nothing is showing error now.
On the forum page above, they wanted a listing of the sources. Here is my current /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu dapper-commercial main
deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://packages.freecontrib.org/plf/ dapper free non-free
# The above lines were generated automatically by EasyUbuntu 3.02 Release
# The rest of your sources.list follows

Another forum page suggested the US archives are overloaded and to change "us" to "uk" in the sources list.
