    downloading songs from phone

    hi
    can anyone help. i have got a samsung d 600 and want download songs to my pc, but dont know how. if i put my cd rom in , will kubuntu recognizes it and if yes wot do i open it with

    Don't bother with the cd, the best bet I'd say is to get yerself a bluetooth dongle and do it through that.

    Incidentely it is the bluetooth support that brought me over to KDE, it hands down spanks the way that Gnome or Xfce handle bluetooth (at least as far as I could work out!)

      If you have a data cable, you could try plugging it in to see whether kubuntu and your phone can figure each other out and let you transfer the files. (This works with some phone manufacturers/models, but not all, and I'm not familiar with Samsung phones).

      If you have bluetooth on your computer (or can get it), then bluetooth transfer is your best bet, like rothchild suggested.
