    Scilab and Tamil Fonts....

    Hello All:

    Just wondering if anyone has managed to get Scilab to work properly using the .deb package. It seems to work fine if I use the command:

    $ scilab -nw

    But I would like to use the GUI. Unfortunately, it seems to want to use the Tamil fonts and if I try to remove them using Synaptic, I'll have to remove the kubuntu-desktop, which I assume would cause headaches down the road when I do a dist-upgrade.

    Any suggestions? Should I just install from source?

    Cheers,

    t.

      You can use any true type font. Translated from geekslang that means that yes. You can use your windows fonts.

      You can add them in the Control Panel, Apperance, Install Fonts.

        Re: Scilab and Tamil Fonts....

        Hi Sutharshan:

        I wish I could help you with the Tamil Fonts. For some reason my Scilab install via Synaptic uses them by default. I wish I knew how to change the fonts Scilab uses, that way I could figure this out for both of us!

        Good luck,

        t.
