    KPDF print margins problem

When attempting to print from KPDF, the print margins are set to zero on all four sides. This yields a document with the top cut off. If I set the print margins to other values using File | Print | Properties | Margins | set new values | Save | OK, and then print, I get the same result. When I go back to the margin settings, they are back to all zeroes again.

    I am printing through CUPS.

Margin-setting for printing works fine from all the other applications I've tried, including Firefox, Thunderbird, Konqueror, kate, and kwrite, so I think we can rule out the printer hardware or CUPS as the source of the problem.

Thankx in advance for any help rendered.

I've just encountered the exact problem you're describing. Moving printer margins doesn't change a thing. Even in the preview mode the the selected page is displayed cut off on the top and right.

      Re: KPDF print margins problem

      I found some further information.

The bug has been fixed in kpdf 0.5.6, which was released on 2007-01-25 as part of KDE 3.5.6 . See:
      http://www.kde.org/announcements/cha...3_5_6.php#kpdf
      for details.

The version of kpdf in my copy of Dapper is 0.5.2, part of KDE 3.5.2 .

Now all I have to do is figure out to whom I can direct the question about whether this will ever be incorporated in Dapper or if it would require updating Kubuntu to a later version. I would prefer the former, as the reason I am using Dapper is for the Long Term Support.

I'm having the exact same problem on my G4 Powerbook. I don't recall this happening before, but it sure is happening now.

          have you tried
control centre > printers > instances > settings > margins

you should be able to set custom margins for the page there ...
