Removing Firefox 1.5 and other packages being removed!!

HI, I really like Kubuntu so far, but I just enabled the universe repository in adept and installed firefox 1.5
-When I went back to remove firefox (konqueror was better), Adept said that not only was it removing firefox but it was removing:
    Removing firefox ...
    Removing kubuntu-desktop ...
    Removing x-window-system-core ...
    Removing xserver-xorg .

    Is this normal?

No, at least not in my system. It seens like I can remove firefox.

What version of kubuntu are you using?. Some older versions used firefox as an HTML library for lots of programs.

Thanks for the reply, I'm using 6.06 LTS straight from the CD with the latest updates, Just reading around here it seems that kubuntu-desktop is a dummy package that simply appears when you remove one more of a whole bunch of packages, but I'm not sure about the others, I don't wan't to break my system just be uninstalling software but I'm sure this is not really as bad as it seems

I have tested it in an 6.06 machine and it seens like I can remove only firefox.

I didn't really remove it, just issue a

        Code:
        $sudo apt-get remove firefox
And everything looks normal, it only asks for uninstall 1 pacakge (BTW, it leaves the firefox localizations installed). I can't remove it or check it from adept, as it is a remote machine and I only have ssh access to it.

You can try the command line orden from above, it could give us more information than adept.

        Javier.

Thanks javierrivera, I'll try the command line and see what happens.
