I'm trying to set up my Kubuntu box to print to a laser printer which I have set up on a DPR-1260 wireless print server. I notice that there is no support for linux with this device. I've been trying to get it to work through the KDE print wizard with my very limited knowledge with no luck. The server allows up to 4 usb printers. Info as follows:
IDENTIFICATION
Server Name: dlinkps-bd7b83
Ip Address: 192.168.0.10(static)
MAC Address: 0015e9bd7b83
Firmware: 1.00
ATTACHED DEVICES
USB Port 1: Samsung SCX-4x21 Series
Printer Status: Ready
Raw TCP port: 9100
LPR Queue Name: SCX-4x21Series
Scanner: No Scanner Detected
PRINTING PROTOCOLS
Raw TCP Port: Enabled
LPR/LPD: Enabled
I tried setting up the printer with Remote LPD Queue, but don't know what to put in Host: and Queue: fields.. I assumed 192.168.0.10 for Host and SCX-4x21Series for Queue. Using these settings however, KDE Print Wizard jambs up while trying to verify the settings and ties up my print server. I have to forcefully shutdown the wizard and reset my print server.
If anyone has any info that could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.
thank you.
