    Cannot connect to workgroup machine

Laptop running Kubuntu 6.06 wirelessly connected to LAN. Desktop running Windows XP SP2 with shared folders set up, wired to LAN.
Samba on Laptop up and running. NFS is installed but I can't get it running in the Services dialog box.
If I go to Remote Places I can see all the machines in the workgroup but when I click on the Desktop, I get the error "Cannot connect to GBPDESK". No other error message. What should I be looking at? BTW, if I try to add a Samba User in the Samba config GUI, it doesn't seem to stick.......

Fixed - had to add the static IP of the Desktop to Domain Name System under Network Settings.

Don't recall having to do this before, is this an "enhancement" in Dapper?
