    ifconfig: rx packets errors very high

    Hi all,

    I installed kubuntu on my machine. I mounted a smb share from my SuSE 10.0 box.
    Whenever I try to copy any files from the remote box, its going terribly slow.

    During the copy of an mp3 i ran ifconfig with following output:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:02:1E:F1:92:47
    inet addr:192.168.1.101 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
    inet6 addr: fe80::202:1eff:fef1:9247/64 Scope:Link
    UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
    RX packets:15433 errors:1399 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:2035
    TX packets:12657 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
    collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
    RX bytes:21124344 (20.1 MiB) TX bytes:1075687 (1.0 MiB)
    Interrupt:4 Base address:0xa000

    lo Link encap:Local Loopback
    inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
    inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host
    UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
    RX packets:3 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
    TX packets:3 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
    collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
    RX bytes:172 (172.0 b) TX bytes:172 (172.0 b)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    As one can see, the RX packet errors is very high and still growing.

    My network card is an 3com 3c905c-tx card

    All help would be appreciated.

    Thanx in advance.
