    Resetting Driver

    Hello people,
I am using the Inspiron 8600 with the ipw2100 card.
I tried getting it to work when I had Breezy by using ndiswrapper but I failed. I upgraded to Dapper by replacing the sources file then doing a dist-upgrade. From what I've read on forums I should be able to get my wifi card to work if I can have its driver reset to the one Dapper would use if I had done a full reinstall.

I.E., is it possible to tell linux to scan the card to see what driver to use?

    Re: Resetting Driver

    Hi,

In fact, if you would remove the driver you used previously (I guess by ndiswrapper), then you can just restart and it should use the kernel stock driver for ipw2100 (my ipw2200 is working like that)
If you would like to remove the driver and install new one dynamically, you should check about these commands :
    lsmod
    insmod and rmmod

    Cheers
