bridging two netoworks...

Hello Everyone...

This is my situation in simplest terms:

Dsl --> router/wireless AP --> Enet hub --> MacOS X
(This setup is downstairs)

wireless AP via RT2500 wi-fi
Kubuntu --<
Enet hub ---> 2 more linux boxes (various flavors)
(This setup is upstairs)

follow? Basically, i want to use my Kubuntu box to bridge the upstairs LAN with the downstairs LAN... I have a wi-fi card and a 10/100 Enet card in this box and I am sure that with some "route" commands I can allow the two networks to communicate w/ eachother... any thougts? (i use 10.0.1.* addressing throughout)

Matt,
Are we talking about two different subnets? What are the IPs of the upstairs and downstairs setups? Is your hub a "switching" or "managed" hub?

i dont mind having different subnets or even different ip bcast addresses if necessary. the hub upstaris is a dumb linksys 10/100 hub.. the downstairs is a dumb linksys 10/100 switch... (dumb meaning no processor/software/etc) i want to actually allow the Enet "LAN" down stairs talk to the Enet "LAN" upstairs and vise versa...

whatever i need to do w/ addressing or subneting i will do

ps... router/AP is 10.0.1.1, machine downstairs is .3, wireless laptop is .5, wireless kubuntu machine upstairs is .9 on ra0 .7 on eth0... etc
