Need some help with my Wi-Fi connection

Hi guys. I love Kubuntu so please keep up the good work. However I do have a problem with my Wi-Fi card. Yes Kubuntu detects it and can use it but every once in awhile it seems Kubuntu will stop detecting or stop using the Wi-Fi card and tell me via the Wireless Assistant app that the card is not turned on when I know it is so I end up losing my connection and have to boot into Windows to talk to people in the forums I visit.

Now I have no idea how to fix this. My Wi-Fi card is an Atheros AR5005G card. I am running Drapper with an 1.6 Ghz Celly and 512 megs of DDR2 RAM. Thanks guys.

Well guys it's gotten worse. I'm forced to use Windows. :P Anyhoo the problem seems to be again that Kubuntu drops the wireless connection. I don't know if this is a hardware problem or a driver issue but the connection works flawlessly in Windows. I choose Kubuntu because so far it's the only distro that will run my Wi-Fi adapter. So can someone help me out? I really want to get back to using Linux.
