Problem with nvidia network interface (nforce 4) !

    Hi guys !

I think there is a problem with the ethernet driver included in Kubuntu release TLS 6.06 ( i think , it 's name is nvnet, i'm not sure).
I explain, when i want to use internet on Kubuntu, if i am on Windows, i must shutdown my computer and remove the socket of the wall for few secondes before i can use internet. If not the system can not use the ethernet interface and i can not have an ip adress from my dhcp server.

Anyone have a solution for not unplugged the socket ?

    Thanks !

my motherboard is an Asrock K8NF4G-SATA2 (nforce 4) + integrated graphic chipset geforce 6100

So this is a single computer with a dual-boot configuration? Do you have a router? Is it setup for a static IP hardcoded to your NIC's MAC Address?

yes this is a single computer with dual-boot (windows XP [win32] et Kubuntu 6.06 [amd64] ).
I have not a router but i have a ethernet modem (a special box from my ISP Scarlet) connected to a switch to share the connection
No static IP, the modem has a dhcp server

But i think it's maybe a trouble with the motherboard BIOS (maybe it don't reset the ethernet interface at shutdown) , I'll try to make an update

      I'll tell you what
