Hi
I recently got a cheap Peak wireless router to which my desktop has a wired connection. The router is connected to a cable modem. My internet connection speed (web pages loading) is fine when the computer is connected directly to the cable modem but very slow when via the router.
The problem is not the router as another computer, running windows, has a fast connection via the router.
Also, the file downloading speeds are apparently unaffected by the router. And the response to 'host google.com' is almost instantaneous when connected via the router.
I'm sure there is a simple solution to this problem but I'd be very grateful for any ideas.
