    shared net connection, solved

ok my current network setup is as follows:
    1) 1x amd64 kubuntu 6.06(the one that connects to the net) (eth0 ip=192.168.0.1)
    2) 1x 386 kubuntu 6.06 (eth0 ip=192.168.0.2, gateway=192.168.0.1)
    3) 1x winxp machine SP2 (ip=192.168.0.3, gateway=192.168.0.1)

    ping works between all machines

ive (finally) got the main computer (amd64 kubuntu) to connect to the internet using the usb modem speedtouch 330 and speedtouchconf (http://speedtouchconf.sourceforge.net/). now i just need to enable a shared internet connection on the main to allow the other 2 to connect to the internet.

problem is i dont have a clue how to, and several hours worth of googling has turned up negative (well apart from those using network cards and the like).

so basically how can i get shared net connection on kubuntu using a usb modem?

and if your wondering, no im not a linux technical genious, so plain english please

    ~edit: about ten mins later

ok after a wee bit more searching found the answer, if your intrested, read on:

using the guide at http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=91370 before had yeilded no result, however i found out that i was using eth0 in the place of ppp0 (which i now know is my internet connection) for pt. 2. one of those slap forehead and cry out "idiot" moments i think

Still least its done and ive learnt a wee bit more about linux.
Working...
