    DSL with dial-up

    Hello all,

Just installed Kubuntu (Dapper) and are having great difficulties getting a connection to the internet.

I have a DSL connection. I am connected to the DSL moden through a cable, which ends in my ethernet on my computer. I have a a username and a password :-D but also a phonenumber.

Trying to use Kppp fail because I cannot use the eth0 for moden. Knet and pppoeconf dosen't work either because I cannot punch in the phonenumber

I am going crazy.... in Suse I would just use Kinternet and configure it with YaST.

Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Ulrik

    Re: DSL with dial-up

Apologies - I am an ass.... The thing that threw me off was the phone number. It turned out, that the phone number given to me by the provider (t-online) is utterly useless :-D

    Here's what I did:
Started knet in a terminal by
    > sudo knet
set up a DLS account with the following information:
    Connection name: T-online
    Username: [t-online number][user number]@t-online.de
    Password: [password]
    Network: T-online
    Device: eth0
    Protocol: PPPoE

And now.... Bob's yer uncle, press 'Connect' (after pressing 'Apply' and 'OK')

    Working...
