How do I retrieve my Mac address?

I'm in Ubuntu 6.06, GNOME desktop

I'm trying to troubleshoot my wireless network access (see my other post below).
On my router, i can manually add wireless devices and assign static IP's (as an alternative to the DHCP which is not working on my Linux Laptop at the moment), but one of the required fields is the MAC address.

Being a Linux Newbie, I have no idea where to retrieve the MAC address for my Laptop/Wifi card.
Your help is appreciated.

use 'ifconfig' in the console it will printout information about your network interfaces.
MAC address is the field titled 'HWaddr'
