    Tweaking RWIN values

How can you tweak the rwin values rmem/wmem?

Every analyzer program says my values are wrong so I want to try to speed up my connect by tweaking the values but all the tcp_* files are temporary files that require sudo to change them, and they are gone after you reboot or shut down.

Does anyone know of a working way that these values can be reset on boot each time? I have tried putting them into rc.local but again that requires sudo and I don't even know when that runs so I don't know if it would just lock the system at somepoint w/o seeing an enter password block.

Is there a conf file somewhere with these values or are they made up each time on reboot?

Use /etc/sysctl.conf to tweak the defaults. I found a good howto on the subject, here: http://www-didc.lbl.gov/TCP-tuning/linux.html
