    Re: Port Fowarding

If you have a router, you do it just as in windows, by using your web browser to go to the router's IP address. In my case (Linksys BEFSR41 wired router), I go to http://192.168.1.1, and enter a password. Your router's documentation will havemore information on what you need.

A great resource with router-specific, illustrated HOW-TO's for all sorts things is here:

Under System Settings, go to Network Settings, click Administator Mode, then after you enter your password, click on your network interface and then click "disable interface"

Then, click on "Configure Interface" and set up your IP address there, and also check the other tabs in the panel to check that your gateway and dns info is there. Once that is done, click on 'Apply", then once it is done reloading, click on "enable Interface" back in the interfaces tab, and you should be all set to go.
