Neither Firefox nor Konqueror will load the authorization page to enable me to log on to the wireless connection provided by a motel where I am a registered guest.
I am running Kubuntu Dapper on my Acer 3620 and I when I try to connect to the access point, I am assigned an IP address and the signal strength is recognized, but I cannot surf because the page on which I type the user name and password is not loaded by either browser.
I do not have popups blocked.
By the way, my ancient PDA which runs WinCE will access the WIFI connection , load the authorization page in IE and let me type in the user name, password, and voila! I can surf on my PDA.
My Acer 3620 connects and allows me to surf on numerous other hotspots, but this one has a login page which is not loaded and prevents me from surfing.
Thanks!
