    WEP 128 on Dapper

I have a minor issue on Dapper. When it starts up, it keeps trying to use a wrong key for the 128 bit WEP.

I can correct this by issuing the command manually under root - and I can automate it as well. I have just upgraded to the latest KDE etc.

Dell Inspiron 6000 which has the Intel ipw2200 onboard wireless.

Does anyone have a clue why this is? Dapper works perfectly otherwise and the wireless is fine once I have set the key manually. It's the only distro that has succeeded and I am now a confirmed Kubuntu/Debian fan, having always used RH and derived distros in the past!

You should try to set it in the file /etc/network/interfaces...
Check man interfaces for informations how to do, and it should work well.

If you can't find what you're looking for or have more questions don't hesitate.

    Cheers

I found that KnetworkManager does a good job. I connect to a WEP and a WPA network fully automatically. The only rant I have is that it does not work if I start up in console mode, but this is no real problem.
