    poor wireless range

I have an IBM T42 with an Atheros mini-PCI card. The wireless connection seems to be functioning correctly but the range I am getting seems poor. Running XP I can connect anywhere in my house. With Kubuntu, I get about half the range. Is there any way to correct this problem? Don't know if it matters but I am running KNetworkManager and Kpowersave. I have disabled both but get the same results.

    T42 specs here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...Entry=2373-3uu

    Thanks,
    Ross

    Re: poor wireless range

something tells me that you aren't getting the full 200ma i believe it is to the wireless card. If that is the case, it almost sounds likea kpowersave issue/bug. Have you checked https://launchpad.net/malone for bugs dealing with this issue? I didn't seen anything obvious via the LaptopTestingTeam and Your Model Laptop either.
