    SMP Kernel and Wi-Fi

I just installed 6.06 RC. First of all, very nice and really quick. I tired Suse 10.1 which is a big hog of resources. Amazing how much quicker Kubuntu is.

Now for my question. I installed Kubuntu and my Wifi worked instantly (Atheros based chip). First thing I did is install the smp kernel to support my HT P4 chip. This kills wifi. I also installed ndiswrapper and got it working.

Is there any way to change the kernel and still have wifi support without ndiswrapper?

You should be able to change by grub for the usual one (without smp I mean) and it should come back to how it was before if smp is really the problem... It's quite strange that it's making bug...
