Different Proxy Settings for Home and Office

I just installed Dapper Drake Flight 7 (my first excursion into the Debian/Ubuntu world) and I need assistance with proxys.

I have different proxy settings at home and the office so what I want to do is have different network configurations for each, and when I switch network configurations (either at bootup, or through a network config tool) I want the proxys to be set properly.

This would be equivalent to the netprofile system in Mandriva.

Is there anything in (or usable within) Kubuntu that does this?

In konsole, look at "man interfaces". One of the examples shows something close to what you're looking for.

Hi. Im also interested in this issue. I had all my machines with mandriva which were slowly and succesfuly migrated to kubuntu. Im really happy with the change. However, i'm still in doubt with my laptop, as the solutions provided here and those ive found on the net are really far from madrivas netprofile services. I travel a lot and usually keep 3 or 4 profiles. If you do so, you will find soon that profiles isnt only about network settings, but also printers, proxies, services and many more things. For me this is a key point in the change, and it is stopping me from changing.
I hope we can have something like that soon. If someone knows something similar, please let me know.
      Thanks in advance.
