sharing greyed out in admin mode

    Dapper Drake flight 7-

trying to turn on sharing through the system settings pannel and auth as admin ok- but the window is greyed out- it looks like sharing from home folder is checked, but when I search for it on the network it's not there...

    any ideas?

I can confirm exactly the same behavior, seems like a bug. Here is what I get after entering the Admin password:

That's it.  Thanks for the screenshot-  it was my day to be lazy.

is there a bug track ticket for it yet?

      edit:
here's the link to a similar ticket- but it was opened in Spanish- so I'm adding my confirmation of the bug and sending your screenshot-

      Anyone else see this bug?

I've had similar problems. Not exactly like, but close. I click on the Admin Mode button and get a red bordered screen with nothing in it and I never get the password box.

Re: sharing greyed out in admin mode

This thread is looking kind of old now, but if there's anyone out there still reading, I have the same problem on two seperate, stock Dapper installs, both 6.06. One machine is a desktop, the other a portable.

Did this get solved by anyone and if so, how?

Of course if you click randomly enough times you usually find the answer.

Deleted Samba and Samba-common then re-installed and all is fine. Hey ho.
