I've read up quite a bit on getting my Broadcom 4310 wireless card working in my Dell laptop, but seem to have gotten stuck.
I used Adept to install the latest version of ndiswrapper, and blacklisted the bcm43xx native driver.
Next, I downloaded (several) versions of the Windows native driver for this card, extracting all the files for each one I tried into a separate folder. From there I entered "sudo ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf" followed by "ndiswrapper -l" which told me the driver was loaded and the hardware was present.
Then I issued the "sudo modprobe ndiswrapper" command and looked at the error messages with "tail /var/log/messages". What I always see is "loadndisdriver: load_driver(361): couldn't load driver bcmwl5"
When I enter "iwconfig" I get error messages that there are no wireless extensions.
Any tips anyone can suggest at this point would be greatly appreciated!
