I'm trying to get the Kubuntu 6.06 Desktop CD to boot on my Powerbook, but with little success.
Starting up holding the C key or shift-cmd-option-delete didn't work but going into Openfirmware and typing:
boot cd:. \install\yaboot
got me goin a bit further.
At this point I get a black screen with white text saying it's the Kubuntu CD running Yaboot and WARNING boot partition should if Apple HFS, should be Apple_Bootstrap.
When I hit return it says it's loading the kernel, the Kubuntu splash screen comes up and it says it's doing something with a ram disk, then it tries to load the root file system at which point the screen goes black and starts flashing a little white cursor at me that doesn't respond to any commands. That gets old pretty fast, then it's restart time...
Anyone have any suggestions?
