installing kubuntu instead of another linux (here:Kanotix)

    Hi forum,
on my PC i have installed WinXP (i need it for work ..) and "kanotix".
I would like to replace the kanotix by kubuntu.
How can i do that, and will this leave my WinXP and "grub" unaltered?
Thx in advance for all advice...

The easiest way to install Kubuntu is to download the "Desktop" Live CD. Run from the CD long enough to verify that everything works. This does not guarantee that it will work after the install, but if something doesn't work in the live CD phase, it 's a good idea to fix it before trying the actual installation. Then click on "install" on the Live CD desktop. You can choose where you want to put Kubuntu so you can overwrite your Kanotix installation without messing up your windoze partition(s).

Obviously, installing Kubuntu Will change your grub menu.lst. It will add Kubuntu (and Kubuntu Rescue mode) and remove Kanotix (if you overwrite it). It will leave your Windoze choice intact, if you leave your windoze partition(s) untouched.
