Need Help & Advise on Kernel 386 to 686

    Hi
I have default 2.6.15-27-386 kernel install on a 686 machine. What are the benefits of updating to the 686? Is it worth it? Will it make a big different? Or don't bother with it? My Kubuntu 6.06 works good no issues or problems very happy with it. I looked in Synaptic have 3 different 386 kernels installed how do i know what to install to get 686 installed correctly? This is my first kernel upgrade. Just trying to figure out what to do before i update my Nvidia driver.

All help & input would be appreciated
    Thank You
