    Installing Kubuntu from Ubuntu

I am using dial up to access the internet, but at present am having difficulty in getting my Winmodem to work. But the real problem is that I would like to have both Ubuntu desktop and Kubuntu desktop so that I can properly evaluate linux.

Online information states that I can install Ubuntu (which I have done) and then install kubuntu-desktop, and that this will give me a choice of desktops.

But where do I find kubuntu-desktop. I am not online with linux. But I do have a live Ubuntu Cd and a live Kubuntu Cd. But is seems kubuntu-desktop is not available in either.

If you want to try Kubuntu, just boot up the live Kubuntu CD and try it out.

You are correct that without an internet connection and with only a Desktop CD, you cannot add kubuntu-desktop to your existing Ubuntu installation. You would need the Alternate CD for that.
