Problem with Kubuntu 6.10 installation

Hello!.
I have downloaded the Kubuntu 6.10 for Amd 64. The installation is like a Live CD. The problem is: when the Kde enviroment start, the screen is not good. Some lines, the image is broken, and the the system "crash". So, i can't do the installation. I think that the problem is the video adapter and its configuration, but i dont know how to chage parameters for that.
I hope you can give me a hand with this problem. Thank you very much!.

Download the alternate install cd. It is text-only but works. If you still have problems after that go into a text console (Ctrl-Alt-F1) and

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
