    How to start KDE

I've just installed Kubuntu 6.06.1 alternate to get my server up and running on Linux in stead of XP, but I can't seem to get KDE to start using normal commands like startx + startkde. How do I get KDE to start? And while I'm askin, how do I get it to start kde as default?

I haven't started playing with the server yet. I seem to recall from my reading that the default install has no desktop.

I think you need to install the
    kubuntu-desktop
    kde-core
    packages.

If you want a wiccked cool desktop with tons of apps add these to your sources.list file
    deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-latest/ dapper main
    deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-353/ dapper main
    ##################bleeding edge
    deb http://kubuntu.org/announcements/kde-355.php
    deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-355 dapper main

    then type in
    Code:
    sudo aptitude update
    Code:
    sudo aptitude install kde
    Code:
    sudo aptitude install kde-admin
Are you using the server for home or your business?

Thanks, I'll try that. I use it for a little bit of both. I don't have a company, but I do have a webshop
