Display misaligned

Loaded 6.06 on to a Dell. During installation there is an automated monitor setup. Trouble is I have a 1cm black strip down the right side of my monitor and 1cm of the desktop is off the screen to the left!!
I have been looking for a control to realign but not found one yet.
Where do I go??

On the monitor itself, there should be buttons that you can use to realign your screen, you shouldn't need a software counterpart; although they do exist.
