    installation (partition freeze)

    hello-

i am trying to install kubuntu 6.06 on my imac g4 on an external 120GB Maxtor hard drive. now the installer starts fine, it asks me my keyboard layout, my location, disk seletion. at disk selection i say:

install on: sda scsi2 120GB with erase and install
but after i click install, it is stuck saying:

creating filesystem ext3 for partition / on sda scsi2...99%
or something close to that. but it just stays on 99% for a LOOOONG time. i let it go for about an hour and it still stayed at 99%...how long is it supposed to take?? the access indicator light on my hardrive flashes, but it doesnt seem to be doing anything.

    thanks - rrm74001

    Re: installation (partition freeze)

it maybe worth trying placing the drive into a system as slave
format the drive to ext3 then place the drive back as an external drive and re-try the install ...
