    Error when booting

When today I tried to boot my kubuntu 6.06 partition i got an error and i don't know how to solve it:

    Checking root file system...

/dev/sda1 has been mounted 30 times without being checked, check forced.

Warning...fsck.ext3 for device /dev/sda1 exited with signal 7.

An automatic file system check of the root file system failed.
A manual fsck must be performed, then the system rebooted.
This fsck can be performed in maintenance mode.
Please note that the root filesystem is currently mounted read-only.
The fsck should only be performed whilethe root flisystem is mounted read-only. However, the command to remount it read-write is: mount -n -o remount, rw /

If I execute fsck in the console I get the same error than before: Warning...fsck.ext3 for device /dev/sda1 exited with signal 7.
Does anyone how to solve it?
    Thanks.

    Re: Error when booting

did you recently change the RAM?

Try turning off CPU cache in your BIOS, booting, fscking, shutting, then turning cpu cache back on

Also try running fsck off a Live CD by mounting your / to /mnt/root or something and running fsck.
