I updated Kubuntu last night, and after rebooting, it hung at "Starting Enterprise Volume Management System" . . . I let it sit all night, still hung there. I've searched the forums for a similar problem, haven't found anything. I tried restarting, which didn't help, also restarting in recovery mode with the current kernel, also still hangs at the EVM loading. I have not yet tried reloading Kubuntu or recovery mode and choosing the older kernel. If I am going to have to reinstall Kubuntu, that's hardly any better than running Windows, is it? Also, is Enterprise Volume Management necessary for a system on a small home LAN? Can I somehow stop this service from running every time it boots? I also get a failure in RAID every boot, and there is no RAID on this system, so I'd like to disable this as well.
