Hi!
A few weeks ago I buyed a pc-magazine, with a Linux-cd in it... You can find that magazine here:
http://www.kubuntu.org/
Hey, I know that link...
But okay, just scroll down and you find the magazine.
The cd is a (I think you call it a...) desktop-cd. It's a mix of a live-cd and install-cd.
Looks great! Because you now have a graphic installer, and not a text-based one.
But... I need the text-based to do this.
I have an very old laptop. Just 64 mb sd ram !!! Brrrr.
But Linux Ubuntu (the old version, 5.10) works great on it! Now I want to upgrade to Kubuntu 6.06 , and that cd gives me the chance to do so.
The Live-cd needs 192 mb sd ram, that's too much for my old laptop... Is there any way that I can switch to a text-based installeren? There MOST be way, not?
I mean, the packages etc... are on that cd... Is there not a command that you can type when you boot from that cd?
---------------
"A few weeks ago" and just now I'm asking for help? Yeah I know, a bit late.
But my head was full of ndiswrapper and wireless...
