kdesktop crashes with SIGABRT on first install

I downloaded v6.06 of Kubuntu and burned it to a CD.

I have an old Dell Inspirion 5000 with a 500 MHz Celeron CPU and 128MB RAM.

I booted from the CD and somehwere during the installation, a window pops up say that kdestop crashes with a SIGABRT (6).

The installation seems to proceed but it never does ask about installing it on my HD.

    Thanks for your help.

Did you check the md5sum of the iso, before you burned it? did you burn at a conservative speed? I use 8x on 24x CDRs. Please follow these instructions.
