Install from Live CD without icon

I've got Ubuntu Breezy on an old laptop and I want to replace this with Kubuntu Dapper.

I can get the CD to run but I then get an error message about KDE Desktop Crasher. I've tried messing with all sorts of settings but don't get any further than that.

Is there an instruction I can enter at the command prompt that will start the proper Kubuntu installation process as the Install icon isn't appearing presumably due to the desktop crash?

    Thanks in anticipation....

    Hi,

I don't know about any commands you can type, but at least you should be able to install it from the boot menu, no ?
Not be graphical, but at least you will install
BTW, why didn't you just dist-upgrade"ed" your breezy ?

    Cheers
