Finally got Kubuntu to completely install. The solution: I used the desktop installer instead of the alternative install cd. Before I downloaded the iso, I read the alternate installer was more stable, so I just went ahead and used that. The install would hang up everytime, so I tried the regular desktop installer iso, and it installed smooth as can be.

I'm installing an alternate CD of Kubuntu 6.01 to an old PC that has the following characteristics
P3-450
128 RAM (SDRAM)

I would install Kubuntu several times and it was a success but when the time comes for me to boot it it the screen would go blank and the boot up wont continue anymore
