    reinstall kubuntu

I'm a kubuntu user and i tied to upgrade from 5.10 to 6.06 usign the information in the kubuntu site.

After some troubles, i have an instable kde and with my wireless card (+ndiswrapper) the system doesn't start.

I want to reinstall kubuntu from the cd, deleting everything.

Please tell me how to reinstall completely kubuntu, erasing everything but SAVING my windows partition...

    Thanks,

    Angelo

Download the live cd, check the md5 sum, burn the cd, check the md5sums of all the programs on the cd. (See the Ubuntu wiki). Backup your /home directory to your favorite removable device. Make sure your BIOS is set to boot from the CD. Insert the CD, Click on "Install or Run", (I can't remember the name). When the live CD Kubuntu comes up, click on the "Install" icon on the desktop.

      That's very easy.

Just run the default install from the Kubuntu CD. When you reach the step related to the HD partition handling, select the customize option. In there you can tweak your HD partitioning options, including mount points and what partitions you wish to format. So you only need to specify what partition is used for /, /home and swap and then select which partition you want to format.

      Easy as pie
