[c] Installer crashes when "searching the mirror" 1%

I'm trying to install DapperDrake 6.06 LTS from the live CD. My system is an Averatec 3200 laptop currently running gentoo linux and WinXP.

My installation proceeds normally until the installer tries to access the network, at which point the progress bar reads "searching the mirror" and indicates progress at 1%. It then hangs indefinitely. All indications are that I'm successfully connected to the network: I have an IP address from the server, etc. However, ping doesn't work (except when pinging the computer itself).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Nevermind, after a night's rest, it's inexplicably working. Better than inexplicably not working!

Err...I have the same problem and it does not seem towork on my machine now, anyone could suggest any fix for it? Thanks a lot!
