I'm trying to install Dapper on my FSC A1655g laptop from Desktop CD.
Installation goes fine till the stage where it says "configuring apt" and after that "scanning for mirrors" and then hangs at 1% for ever.
Looking at logs, it seems like it's trying to get something from internet, but network is not configured.
I searched the forum and found several topics, but didn't quite understand: is the Internet connection required for the installation? And if it is, is there any way to skip this step, maybe with alternate CD or something else?
I connect to my ISP through VPN, so I don't know if it is possible to connect from the live CD before installation?
