    Screen resolution problem

    Hi guys,

This is my first Linux experience... So don't make it too difficult for me.

I downloaded Kubuntu yesterday. Everything went well, untill I tried to run kubuntu the first time.
I had a black screen after the loading screen.

After some google searching I found that it was a specific problem for my notebook (Aspire 1960).
I tried the following wiki and everything went well:
    https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Ubuntu5.10OnAcerAspire1692WLMi

I could get into kubuntu, but my screen resolution was way to small, and I couldn't select my normal resolution (1280*800).

I added this resolution in xorg.conf, but after I did this part and after the loading screen, I just saw a 6-7 times my screen in a very low resolution....

    Can someone help me out?
    Thnx in advance.

(sorry for my english, I'm native Dutch...)

    Re: Screen resolution problem

Did you perform the steps for fixing X.org listed on the wiki page that you referenced?

By the way, there is active support in the Netherlands for (K)Ubuntu at http://www.ubuntulinux.nl/
