    Dapper refuses to install

I've tried to install dapper, but it won't work. When booting the cd (i've tried the alternate too), the only option that works is "boot from first hard disk". When I try to install it, the image trembles and nothing happends. What can it be ? I want so much to install Kubuntu, but...he doesn't want that . Help, anyone, please. Breezy worked with no problem at all. I'm just a noob on linux, so don't give me "crypted" solutions (if you know one). My hardware configuration is :
    -CPU: Amd Barton 2500+
    -MB: Abit NF7
    -GPU: Gigabyte GeForce 4MX
    -RAM: 1GB Geil Value select
-HDD: Seagate 80 Gb ultra ata
    -DVD-rw : Lg GSA 4163
Hope I'll hear from you soon. Thank you very much.

You might need to go into your BIOS and change the boot order to put the CDROM before the hard drive. Watch closely when you first start up the machine, it will tell you what key to press to enter CMOS setup, or something similar. Usually either DEL or an F-key.
